FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. How to make a terrarium ?

Ans: Surprisingly, putting together a lovely terrarium does not take much time and effort. You'll need a beautiful air plant terrarium and some succulents/air plants to make a lovely terrarium plant display for your visitors to enjoy. For decorating the terrarium arrangement, you'll probably need a few rocks, horticultural charcoal, soil, and moss.

Take a look at these easy-to-follow steps for creating a one-of-a-kind air plant terrarium decor.

  • Add a layer of pebbles into your choice of air plant terrarium, preferably pebbles very small in diameter for drainage.
  • Next, layer in about 1/2 inch of horticulture charcoal. They pull toxins and bacteria from the soil in the terrarium and helps keep the environment in the container fresh and mold-free.
  • Now you're ready to put in the soil. At least 3 inches of soil will do, depending on the type of glass terrarium you have selected.
  • At this point, it's time to put in the plants. Make sure they are small enough to fit in your air plant terrarium, preferably without touching the sides. You'll also have to purchase air plants that don't need a humid atmosphere. This leaves out most succulents and cactus.
  • Finally, add the finishing touches! Add in larger decorative stones and reindeer moss. These components are optional and often serve as decoration. Still, depending on how the stones are laid, they can encourage your plants to develop (or not develop) in certain areas.
  • And with that, your new terrarium is finished. Misting the air plants with a sprayer occasionally is likewise suggested.

2. How to install terrarium ?

Ans: Getting creative in decorating your home or office is easy using hanging glass terrariums and wall hanging planters. With our wide variety of air plant terrarium for sale online, you can select multiples to hang in groups, tiered fashion, or even create a focal point in the corner of a room.

Suspend our hanging planters from a wall hook or select a hanging succulent terrarium and hang them from the ceiling with jute string, fishing line, even colorful ribbon to set your self-made creation apart. Regardless of what you choose, our air plant terrariums are a great way to get creative and think out of the pot.

3. How to care for air plants ?

Ans: Unlike other plants that rely on soil to thrive and develop, air plants don’t need soil to grow. However, just because these air plants aren’t dependent on the soil doesn’t mean that they can survive on air alone. It’s not a good idea to just display in a glass vase terrarium and expect them to survive only on air. These air plants still need the proper terrarium plant care in order to grow and flourish for a long time.

To care for your air plants in an indoor plant terrarium, begin by saturating a container with fresh water and immerse the air plants well. After soaking, take the air plants out of the water and lightly shake off any excess water. Allow the plants to dry completely on their side or upside down before placing them on a window beam so they can get dry and get some sunlight, but avoid exposing them to direct sunlight.

After an hour or two, the air plants should dry. Once dry, put them in an area with plenty of bright, indirect sunlight. Do not display them in direct sunlight as this will dry them out fast. Typically, air plants will only require a 30-minute soak in water once a week.

If they are in a very dry or warm climate, they need to be sprayed with water once a week in addition to soaking. You will recognize if they are becoming too dry if their leaves begin to bend. Give them a good soak if you notice this. Remember that despite their name, air plants require more than air to grow happily.
